New Belgium Brewing Company New Belgium Brewing located in Fort Collins, Colorado is a large scale brewery with a small scale impact on the world... carbon impact that is. New Belgium is one of the few green breweries in North America; meaning that the brewery gets its energy from a natural source. The wind! First and foremost brewengineer would like to thank Flying Dog Brewery for sending us some wonderful samples of their brews. I must say Flying Dog is a favorite of brewengineer. Their style and dedication inspires all of us to strive for excellence; and most importantly have fun doing it. Flying Dog Brewery sets the standard for the type of styles they brew. While some of their beers may seem extreme, their always well balanced and full of taste.
Below are links to four samples that we recently reviewed for Flying Dog Brewery. We recommend reading and reviewing these beers for yourself. We are sure you'll find what you are looking for. You may even find something unexpected...
Port brewing announced yesterday that Russian River Brewing Co. will distribute their beers to Northern California and the San Francisco Bay. Distribution will include year round and seasonal beers like Sharkbite Red and High Tide IPA. Distribution will also include beers from The Lost Abbey such as Lost And Found Abbey Ale and Devotion. This may not mean too much to East Coasters like myself, however if you're ever in the area you'll have plenty to sample.
I was recently reminded that the 2008 Samuel Adams Longshot® was coming up. Remember that commercial where the girl is homebrewing, looking at the camera while her beer extract overflows onto the stove? I want to be that girl. Uhhh....well not exactly, but I do want to submit my favorite IPA and Stout recipes. A list of the official rules can be found at www.samueladams.com Go to the events and promotions section. Beers must be received between April 15th and May 1st.
Happy brewing, and drop us a line if you're planning on participating. P.S. Send me one!
As Benjamin Franklin once said "Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." But let's face it, I doubt Ben was drinking a Budweiser when he made this statement. That's where BrewEngineer comes in; this site was designed with the younger, hipper crowd in mind. The crowd that will no longer settle for the mainstream macrobreweries whose research consists of how to maximize profit. We want unique beers like the Imperial Pale Ale, Belgian Ale, Stout and Lambic. We want a beer like Dogfish Head's Chateau Jiahu - a nine thousand year old, inspired brew!
If this sounds like you, then please be a part of the BrewEngineer community. We strive to share the latest in the world of beer. We at BrewEngineer don't want to claim to know everything in the brew World and that's why this site needs your support.
