Guinness Draught...what can I say, other than is it time for one? This beer has been around forever, and with good reason. The original brewer, Arthur Guinness, started the St. James Brewery on a small 4 acre plot in Dublin circa 1759. The lease for this establishment was signed for a mere 9000 years...yes, 9000 years. I suppose he decided he wanted to have plenty of time to get this beer just right. Well he did, with about 8960 years left the Guinness people have spent their time figuring out the method of the perfect pour, temperature, settling time..pretty much everything. Since its conception it has grown to a worldwide favorite, brewed many places other than Ireland. However, the true heart of this beer, referred to as Guinness Essence, utilized in every sweet drop of this stout is only brewed in Ireland. So next time you tip that glass of Guinness, remember "you take the high road, I'll take the low.....", whatever....doesn't matter, we are drinking a true Irish beer. All kidding aside..Guinness is truley a great tasting stout, which is very smooth and has a creamy mouthfeel. The signature opaque black coloring and frosty white head is recognized all over the world. This beer has a unique hint of "bitter/burnt" taste which to me can only be described as Guinness, so go out and try one...the brewery only has about 8750 years left. User reviews
