Pronounced "Smith-ick's", this Irish red ale was brewed in Kilkenny, Ireland in the St. Francis Abbey Brewery by John Smithwick.  Smithwick's was purchased by Guiness in 1965 becoming part of the Diageo family.  In 2004, Smithwick's found its way to the U.S., bringing bar-goers the smooth, yet complex Irish ale they were looking for.

Makes me want to speak with an Irish accent when I drink it, and I promise it's not a good rendition. I'm a big fan of the amber ales and Smithwick's answers the call. Has great flavor while still finishing smooth. Small amount of head provides nice aroma while not overpowering. Next thing I know, I'm ordering another.
