Pronounced "Smith-ick's", this Irish red ale was brewed in Kilkenny, Ireland in the St. Francis Abbey Brewery by John Smithwick.� Smithwick's was purchased by Guiness in 1965 becoming part of the Diageo family.� In 2004, Smithwick's found its way to the U.S., bringing bar-goers the smooth, yet complex Irish ale they were looking for.�

Makes me want to speak with an Irish accent when I drink it, and I promise it's not a good rendition. I'm a big fan of the amber ales and Smithwick's answers the call. Has great flavor while still finishing smooth. Small amount of head provides nice aroma while not overpowering. Next thing I know, I'm ordering another.
